What is Central Dispatch

What is Central Dispatch

March 27, 2019 Posted by Transporter Question and Answer

Central Dispatch is the largest and the de facto auto transport industry Load Board. Central Dispatch is a membership based website for Car Carriers, Broker/Shippers and Dealers. Carriers and shippers must have DOT and MC licensing to join. A self regulated rating system much like eBay is used. Members work hard to establish and maintain a positive rating.

Post- we work with you, gathering key information about your vehicle to include its size and operability. Additionally, any modifications to the vehicle are discussed and how those might impact the estimate we are providing. The pickup and delivery locations and the urgency of the relocation are also noted. We also collect contact information, the name and phone number, of you or your representative at the pickup and delivery locations. We use this information to represent your vehicle transportation needs.

Review – carriers build out their loads using load boards such as central dispatch. They contact us when they have availability on their transporter. We review their qualifications. Does the carrier have insurance? Is that insurance adequate for the job the carrier is performing; only 100k of insurance on a 10 car transporter is not enough insurance. Do they have a good safety record? Do they pay their bills? Yes, we ask a lot of questions. This where we provide the value to the customer, this work is unseen by you our customer.

Accept – once we locate, review and approve a transporter for your vehicle we contract with them to relocate your vehicle. We ensure they agree to payment terms and have the required contact information in addition to meeting your scheduling requirements. From here the carrier will reach out to you to discuss pickup time and location and review any special instructions you may have for them.

Receive – your vehicle. The carrier offloads your vehicle. You inspect your vehicle to ensure your satisfaction. Remaining funds due are paid to the transporter driver at this time. This payment is generally COD unless other payment arrangements have been made.
